I lived and worked in or around San Francisco for 27 years until I moved to southern CA in 2004. Living in the city you see a lot of street artists. It is part of the culture and what makes SF unique. One day while visiting the exploratorium near the Palace of Fine Arts, I saw this man in front of the building balancing bottles, cans and rocks on a piece of rebar. I was fascinated that he could do this. Take a look at what I am talking about:

I watched him for a while, gave him a tip as this is how he earns a living, and filed this experience in my memory as a unique favorite. I often wondered if I would have the chance to see him again in the city and share this experience with others.Fast forward ten plus years later...
It's 2010...Memorial Day weekend, David and I go to the bay area to celebrate his birthday with good friends Ottmar, Jacqueline and Alexis. We decide to take a trip to Sausalito and walk along the bay and guess what we see...these wonderful rock sculptures. I felt excited as I look around to find the artist and there he is...Bill Dan. A tour bus passed by at the same time and I heard the tour guide direct people's attention to him and his work while she called him a "true Rock Star."
He had a number of incredible sculptures on the rocks by the water. It is a picture perfect setting. Take a look:

He now teaches others how to rock balance. Here is Alexis learning from him with a mini-sculpture. She did great.
