A Chakralicious Person and A True Rock Star!

When someone shares their unique gifts and talents they make the world a better place. I call this being Chakralicious...full of your own energy, feeding your spirit by doing what you love and do best. These are the people who inspire. You are fascinated by how they do what they do. Here is my first Chakralicious person story:

I lived and worked in or around San Francisco for 27 years until I moved to southern CA in 2004. Living in the city you see a lot of street artists. It is part of the culture and what makes SF unique. One day while visiting the exploratorium near the Palace of Fine Arts, I saw this man in front of the building balancing bottles, cans and rocks on a piece of rebar. I was fascinated that he could do this. Take a look at what I am talking about:

I watched him for a while, gave him a tip as this is how he earns a living, and filed this experience in my memory as a unique favorite. I often wondered if I would have the chance to see him again in the city and share this experience with others.

Fast forward ten plus years later...

It's 2010...Memorial Day weekend, David and I go to the bay area to celebrate his birthday with good friends Ottmar, Jacqueline and Alexis. We decide to take a trip to Sausalito and walk along the bay and guess what we see...these wonderful rock sculptures. I felt excited as I look around to find the artist and there he is...Bill Dan. A tour bus passed by at the same time and I heard the tour guide direct people's attention to him and his work while she called him a "true Rock Star."

He had a number of incredible sculptures on the rocks by the water. It is a picture perfect setting. Take a look:

He now teaches others how to rock balance. Here is Alexis learning from him with a mini-sculpture. She did great.

I am so happy that I get to share Bill Dan and his work with others. He is now represented on a website and has a number of videos on utube. He sells pictures of his sculptures if you see him in person and he will even teach you this fine art of balance. If you visit San Francisco, take a trip to Sausalito and tell him Linda sent you. Be sure to buy a few pictures to support his talent. Click on the links below to see more.

Got Energy? Feeding Your Inner Rainbow

We think of energy as being physical...but did you know that your body is fueled by energy from your subtle energy body and the health of your Chakras? Your vitality or lack thereof comes from feeding yourself energetically. What I call feeding your Inner Rainbow. Here's how it works:
Your Chakras collect universal healing energy and distribute it throughout your physical body. This energy radiates from within and surrounds your physical body in what is called the Aura. The colors of the aura represent both the health of the physical and subtle energy body.
See the photo of a Healthy Aura below.

Years of not taking care of yourself depletes you energetically. You leave bits and pieces of your energy behind causing something I call Leaky Aura. This leaves you susceptible to absorbing unwanted energies from others. See the photo of Leaky Aura below.

Initially this imbalance may not be apparent on the surface, however it could lead to long term dis-ease and once this dis-ease reaches the physical body it is more difficult to reverse. Leaky aura causes stress, excessive mental chatter, depression, anxiety and more.

Healing Leaky Aura

When you are depleted energetically it takes like to heal like. Look for ways you can infuse yourself with spirit energy on a daily basis.

  • Take a walk in nature
  • Go to the beach
  • Have fun, laugh & do something you love to do
  • Use items/products infused with spirit energy - EnergyCeuticals - such as Gemstones and Flower Essences
  • Use universal healing energy on yourself such as with Reiki
  • Use products infused with Reiki energy, including Petal Potions Mood Mists
  • Play with a puppy, kitten or toddler

When you are full of your own energy, the only energy that can penetrate is conscious spirit energy collected by the Chakras. As you consciously focus on filling your "Leaky Aura" you remove the spaces for other energies to move in. You feel protected without the fear of absorbing unwanted energy.

With a healthy spirit you feel guided and more connected to a sense of purpose. With purpose you have passion and with passion life is more rewarding. After all, living your life passionately is what life is all about.

I'm in Las Vegas teaching Reiki today

Good morning...I love this 30 day blog challenge. It helps me to think of ways to communicate what is happening in my life and my work.

I left sunny California yesterday to arrive in sunny-er Las Vegas to teach a Reiki level 1 class today, (Sunday) and a Chakralicious, Mini-treatments class tomorrow, (Monday).

Reiki is a wonderful hands-on healing modality that lifts your spirits and brings you to balance. I started using it on myself almost 20 years ago to heal from depression and it worked!

Reiki helps to quiet the mind and calm the emotions so you feel more at peace and comfortable being yourself. It helps to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, pain and more. It is one of the things in life you need to experience to understand it.

So here I was an image consultant and make-up artist in San Francisco in the 1980's teaching others about how to be authentic inside and out and I was suffering from bouts of depression every year. It wasn't easy. I felt like I had so much to offer and then I would get knocked down by this depression. I am sure it had something to do with my mother suffering from depression too and taking her own life...but that is another story for later.

Anyway, one night I found myself making the big choice...do I join my mom or stay here? A little voice told me "don't do it" and I decided to stay. I knew I had to heal myself from depression and here I am. In my quest to heal myself, I found Reiki and started using it on myself regularly. That is where I learned about how we need to heal our "energy body" even more than the mind. Because when you heal the spirit, your emotions, mind and physical body get balanced as a result.

I was happy just using Reiki on myself and friends and family until 9/11 happened. Then I got the calling to teach this wonderful healing modality. I realized that there are lots of people who are stressed out and depressed and that I have a solution to this problem. So in 2001 I got my Reiki master training and started performing energy make-overs, teaching my students how to have more balance in their lives.

Click here to learn more about Reiki and I will write more later about my class and trip here in Las Vegas...

Chakralicously yours, Linda

First Make-Overs revealed...

I have been performing make-overs for as long as I can remember. I discovered this picture of me at the age of 4 holding my cat Blackie that I had dressed up in doll clothes.

Next was my dog, Lady. She was like my sister and only sibling growing up. She went everywhere with me for 16 years. I only have one picture of her in a hat I had made from newspaper but I can remember many more make-overs with her as my model.

As an adult I got Konika Snow and continued the make-overs. Notice a pattern here?

I grew up in the sixties where all the girls were playing with Barbie. She had it all; a corvette, a dream home, Ken, Skipper and all the clothes and accessories you could imagine. But for some reason I wasn’t crazy about Barbie. If she had it all, what did she need me for?

Trolls on the other hand were another story. They had long, colorful, hair that I envied since my mom always made me get a pixie. Trolls were so ugly they were cute. They mostly came naked, but when they did have clothes they were made of felt and had no style...nothing I would want to be caught alive in. This was the recipe for my work to begin. Trolls needed me…they needed a make-over.

I can remember going through my mother’s sewing kit and finding scraps of fabric, thread and bric-a-brac to design a new wardrobe for my Trolls. I worked intently to design and sew these clothes. Seeing the results of my work, you can see why I didn’t become a fashion designer.

All of this was a sign of what was yet to come. I continue to perform make-overs in my business...both inside and out.

Doing what you love doing feeds your Inner Rainbow...and...you make the world a better place just by being you! Now that's Chakralicious...

Description of the Chakras

Each Chakra has its own personality and represents a unique aspect of your essence. When you understand the energy that fuels each Chakra you can see how each one contributes to the larger whole for a complete view. Here is a brief overview:

1. The first Chakra is the most physical and allows you to survive, thrive and take action to walk your unique path in life.

2. The second Chakra is an emotional center and allows you to create, feel, relate to others and create your life with passion.

3. The third Chakra is mental and allows you to learn, communicate your personal truth and project your external image to others.

4. The fourth Chakra connects you to your inner self and allows you to connect to nature’s rhythm, experience “pure” love, heartfelt resonance and have conscious awareness.

5. The fifth Chakra is your communication center and allows you to accept the many facets that make you unique to express yourself authentically.

6. The sixth Chakra is your third eye and allows you to have clear vision to see the big picture, how you fit into the picture and take the steps needed to actualize your vision.

7. The seventh Chakra is the most energetic and allows you to intuit and receive conscious information to guide you on your path.

When you use the energy available to you, you act from your whole self; body, mind and spirit:

You receive information from a conscious source (7th) so you have clear vision to see how you fit into the big picture (6th). You can then communicate (5th) your vision clearly from the heart (4th). You have the will (3rd) to bring your vision into the physical world by acknowledging your ‘feelings’ (2nd) and allowing them to guide you so you can take action and firmly walk your unique path in life (1st).

When you don't utilize all of the aspects that make you unique you can suffer from stress, constant mental chatter, anxiety, depression, disease and more. Your job in life is to know yourself, be yourself and share your unique gifts and talents with the world.
